Going to Montauk is now totally overrated. The best beachy spots are actually now in Manhattan. Or at least, we, unfortunate people stuck in the city for summer, like to think so. At NewYork Chéri, we’ve been super excited to see that one of our long date favorite summer spot re-opening last May. It will only last until September, so hurry up, the frozen watermelon margarita is not going to wait!
Two years ago, Gilligan’s was a tropical beach with mermaids, bananas, beach chairs and sand. And frozen watermelon margaritas spiced up with some Cayenne pepper. After a closed summer last year, the pop-up eatery has re-opened with a different vibe: more seats, new tropical plants, and a relocated bar area. Annnd… frozen watermelon margaritas!
Two blocks from the Holland Tunnel, you’ll be sure to find out a wonderful summer escape at Gilligans, located in the outdoor space of Soho Grand hotel. Add to this ideal decor a smell of a campfire and you’ll feel on a mini-vacation. Wood Fire pizzas and rotisserie chicken will help you fight the sneakiness of the margaritas.
This pop-up beach bar will be open through September. Closing… late 🙂 and because you don’t count on vacation, we’ll let you discover the salty price of the cocktails by yourself.
